Emma

Emma Watson

Hermione Granger is all grown up. I love how chic and classy she had become. And with brains to boot! She is currently taking up full subject courses at Brown University. Her Harry Potter had always been my favorite character in the series.

I remember seeing her pictures back when she first audition for the part. With her bushy hair (like the one described in the book) and an air of confidence, her chemistry with Rupert and Dan was undeniable. They became superstars overnight.

Emma is also a celebrated fashion and beauty magazine cover girl. Whenever I see a magazine with her on the cover, I’d normally would stop and give it a second look.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 will be in theatres in a few days. 18 November to be exact. Well, here in the Philippines that is. The movie will have its world premiere on 19 November. Now as to why we’ll be able to watch it ahead of the world, I have no idea. I guess, we’re just lucky :D

Tummy Rant

That’s what I am having right now. I’ve had this since yesterday. Well, not all day. I only had it whenever I go home, before eating dinner. No, I am pretty sure it's not because I am hungry. I often have a snack before going home. Guess my plan to start taking the best diet pills for women will temporarily be canceled because of this sudden tummy pains.  I can still continue the diet routine, but will not risk it due to this surprisingly painful abdomen :|

Cancer Stick

I –make that me and my mother – have been trying to convinced my father to quit smoking. He started huffing and puffing cigarettes since he was in high school. Peer pressure, he shared. Maybe I never had the chance to really convince him, that persuading him to let go of this bad habit using the tactics I know isn’t enough. I found this website that shares some useful tips, that maybe I can share, on how to quit smoking:
  • decide that you want to quit. It all starts with having a stand and the desire to really let go of the vice.
  • set a date. Having a goal to achieve, like having the exact date that you see yourself quitting, is the best way to keep you going.
  • find alternatives.Candies, nicotine gums and other similar diversionary tools as an alternative to smoking is another great way to quit.

Make ‘em Laugh

So I've decided to take a break from my research on tea tree oil for a client. By the way, that research was amiable, especially if you have a handful of people who needed it. The information is like a friendly neighbor spreading his hand to help one be calm and healthy. Going back to my break from the research, it was a short one-hour break. I decided to spend it watching an episode of Saturday Night Live. I asked my brother the other day to download the episode of the show where Joseph Gordon-Levitt was the guest celeb of the week. I found these promo pictures for his guesting late last year:

Regular Joe in SNL back in 2009.

I thought he did a superb job, especially in choosing the perfect song and dance number: his version of Donald O’Connor’s Make ‘Em Laugh from Singing In The Rain. The song and the number itself fit him to a T. His facial expressions, his snappy dance moves was a delight to watch.

Dear Spammer

Please stop sending my Inbox with weight loss pills brochures. Do know that I forwarded to my friends the first five e-mails you sent. I do not need any of those pills at the moment because I am happy with my weight and is actually looking forward to gaining more. It was helpful, though, especially to my friends who received the e-mail.

But if you’ll continue sending me 50 messages a week, then that’s another issue.

Cheers,

Annoyed E-mail Account holder

Awkward, But True.

Michael Cera

Abominably true. Michael Cera, I love you, but seeing these pictures made me realize that you are, indeed, have played the same role in every movie you we’re in. Well, at least the ones that I  have seen. The first movie that put Cera on my radar was Juno. His and Ellen Page’s chemistry was undeniable. It was a fun movie and I thought he played his part perfectly. Like how an awkward, geeky teen would act on the situation.

Then I downloaded Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist. This is movie is one of those that I do not get why people rave so much about. I think I did not make a lot of sense. The movie was just about two people, exchanging insincere compliments and creating an illusion of falling in love while finding clues to a secret concert their favorite band will be having. About the playlist, the songs aren’t that good either.

Year One. So I expected he would, finally, be portraying a different role from his typical awkward types. The movie was set in 1BC. Pure comedy, I thought, since he’ll be bantering with Jack Black. But NO. He still is the same guy. Awkward, but with limited vowels and conjunctions.

Youth In Revolt revealed a bit of Michael Cera’s acting prowess. He was sort of away from his typical awkward teen role when he plays his alter-ego on the film. But, the awkward teen was still there.

I hope they’ll give him a role that will definitely show a different side of him.

Almost Midnight

...and the most proverbial question pops in my head: do diet pills work? Yes, that pop quiz question my aunt always carry around and blurts it whenever she gets the chance; like at this very moment in Facebook chat. I cannot tell you the total count, but she must’ve inquired about the same topic for almost all the months of the year than actually doing something about it. You know, planning ones diet and really getting into the routine of losing weight.

My dear Aunt, it’s almost 2011. Please change your ways.

The Social Network

The Social Network opens in the Philippines on October 27.

I would really like to see The Social Network. I have been reading a lot of good reviews about this movie. Most of them are all praises with the movies’ script as smokers would do for panatela cigars. I only saw the trailer for this film twice. I did not give me that vibe at all, but you got to trust these critics sometimes, especially if the word “Academy Awards” have been mentioned plenty of times on their reviews.

I have seen pictures of the real Mark Zuckerberg on gossip blogs these past few weeks. The Facebook mogul was never visible to these blogs, but with the success of the movie, I think the billionaire will have to get used to the attention due to the success of this movie.

Justin Timberlake is on this film. I have never seen him act before. They say he did great on this film and predicted that he would get his first Oscar nomination for his performance.

The Social Network opens in the Philippines on October 27.

Spankin’ New

alt

This brand new machine was just installed on my work are at the office. My decision to not join my friend when they were pursuing the job opportunities on the accounting finance jobs they found when we graduated college was a good call for me. The company I am working for gives good deals and benefits and knows how to address the needs of their employees. We’ve been having a  lot of trouble finishing our tasks because of the performance of our previous machines. They attend to the need immediately and provided us with a faster and more stable machines. :)

Final Rehearsals Week

Our company is celebrating it's 10th year anniversary on Friday. I've mentioned before that we're preparing a musical for the said event. I was given the task to come up with the choreography for all the numbers. That's 7 sequences in all, and I have to come up with the steps for each in two days! I am not really a dancer and I really need to finish my research about drawer handles for a client for me to be able to concentrate on creating the steps. Mind you, I am not really a dancer, but I love to dance and I hope this enthusiasm will get me through and be able to create and teach everyone the steps properly.

Another one of the task that I needed to do before coming up with the steps is to record all the musical numbers. All of the numbers are based on popular songs and the lyrics we’re tweaked a bit to fit the story that we’ll try to tell. We rehearse after office hours and the song numbers take at least an hour to practice so these next few nights is definitely going to be the busiest.

The fun thing about all this is everyone that’s part of the production are all up for it. They all have their game faces on with one goal of giving a good show. That puts a little bit of pressure on my part since I am not really a choreographer and I might not come up with the perfect step. But just the same, it’s a great thing and I think everyone will have loads of fun this rehearsals week. :)

Rehearsals

We’ll be starting rehearsals for our company’s 10th Anniversary. A musical about the basic process we have at the company is the theme. Our director mentioned that we should research on compression stockings information since some of the parts that the cast will be doing has something to do with compressions and stockings. Oh, yeah I kid, hehe. It’s nothing very complicated, just plain fun. I know it will take a huge amount of our time for the next coming days, but I know it’ll be all worth it. :)

Tenth Month

How time flies. It's like we've started the year just yesterday, and now we're on the 10th month already! It means we only have at least 90 days remaining for 2010. I'd be spending the rest of the night researching about vitamins for weight loss but I thought I take down all the important things that have happened to me this. The next will be just a random things, people and situations that I recall that happened this year:

  • I created Up Dharma Down’s Tumblr site.
  • Met Chris Carraba and the rest of Dashboard Confessional.
  • Watched Dashboard Confessional live for the first time.
  • Mama started getting really sick.
  • Mama got blind.
  • Watched John Mayer live for the first time.
