Blame Glee

This song’s been playing in my head since last night. Paramore’s song was featured on this week’s episode of Glee (Britney/Brittany). Humming this tune while writing this afternoon kept me going. I wonder who wrote this song. It’s honesty and simplicity’s definitely a great mix. Plus Hayley’s vulnerable, sincere voice makes it more powerful.

Wanted: The Perfect Computer Chair

Having a comfortable chair had been my problem whenever I write. It won’t be long before I develop an unwanted lump on my back due to my bad posture while working. Working at home, that is. My office chair is nearly perfect. I mean, it has to be since I spend 9 hours of the 5 days of my week writing and accomplishing tasks. A lot of you who have been visiting may have figured that I also write short, and sometimes lengthy articles for various clients. Composing a great write-up for these clients eats up almost half of my weekend. I often do my extra job  in my room. I have a decent table here, and I need a chair to match. Been browsing the items from this modern furniture online store and found tons of candidates for my soon-to-be seat of power, ehehe :P I would want to have one of these in my room:

Aunt Update

I shared these diet pills that actually work with my Aunt. Yes, I know, I have written about her and her obsession with her diet countless times here. Her dedication actually baffles me. How many times have I given her tips about these diet programs. From the most effective pills to the best doctors that can help her with her diet that I could think of; name it, I’ve done it. Sometimes, I wish my Aunt will have a new obsession soon. This is becoming cyclical.

Does You Inspire You?

I agree.

Even to come up with a decent article about how rare it is to have an 'acne on neck', or the a major project for work; an inspiration to do your best with anything doesn’t come easily. Some are gifted in pulling out inspiration from anything around them. May it be things or experiences. These people are commonly known as artist.

Learning To Walk

Princess was here at home a few weeks back. She’s my Tito Tony’s youngest. My mother likes it when she is around. She’s starting to make these adorable baby talks and laughs every chance that she has, making everyone in the room smile. Tita Marissa brought her walker with them and shared that our little princess is now learning how to walk. Of course, I wouldn’t miss this for the world. Borrowed my Papa’s phone and took pictures while she’s playing and practicing how to walk. :)

Hello, Princess :) curious baby cutie patootie :P

How cute is she? I love that her dress is matched with her walker, haha. What’s cool about her walker is it’s a musical walker! There are buttons she can play with and push that plays really nice kiddie tunes. I cannot wait for the time she can walk and run around.

Daisies

Not many know this fact but there’s a part of me that longs to receive flowers. I’ve never been given something as elaborate as a bouquet or even a single stem. I don’t know. Maybe my personality doesn’t scream flowers. I am not a girly-girl, but what kind of women can resist the beauty of flowers. I want to get daisies, like this one from pro flowers:

Gerbera Daisies at $39.99 at ProFlowers

Aren’t they lovely? I would love to wake up seeing this in my room or our living room. :)

10th Anniversary

Our company will be celebrating its 10th year anniversary this October. The dress code is something much complicated than prom dresses; Filipiniana. We girls have to wear a Terno and the boys will be donning Barong Tagalog. Ternos, in my opinion, are really uncomfortable. Some of them are really bulky that you’ll be sweating like a pig by the end of the night. :|

Acceptance

My Tita have been bombarding me with questions on what is the best fast weight loss pills she can find online. She had been since April. I've given her a lot of suggestions and told her to also seek the help of professionals. Her obsession with losing weight have been so obvious that my mother was asking if she’s still eats. The decline of her body weight have been extra rapid that we sometimes cannot decide as to whether she is ill or her lost of energy is just because of her weight loss regimen.

I sometimes do not understand other people’s efforts losing weight. I would understand if it’s because of health reasons, but if you are born with having a full body (like my Aunt) and you still cannot accept that, then there is something alarming about that. It’s ok to long for something for the sake of aesthetics, but if it does drain your old, active self; don’t you think it’s time to stop and think about things?

Time For A Laptop Revamp

My mother recently retired from her job. She was a teacher for almost 30 years and was taking up some units for her Masters degree. But odd things happen that she needed to officially close her books and surrender her grading sheets and lesson plans. My father bought her a laptop for her weekend classes. Her professors are fond of giving out brochures and study materials in the form of Powerpoint presentations and PDFs. Also, having a laptop helped her keep up with weekly lectures and project proposals. Since she's not going to use her laptop, I asked if I can reformat and reprogram it. The laptop warranty doesn't cover the enhancements that I’ll be doing with the two-year-old notebook PC, so I decided I’d do them myself.

My mother agreed with my proposal since my current job require me to write and document a lot. Laptop revamping will begin this weekend. :)

iPad, iWant

iPadI want an iPad!

A lot of gadget geeks maybe has one of these. For those people like me whose on a tight budget and really buy gadgets more because of function than luxury, I always do my research before fully considering the possibility of a purchase.

The web page for this product in Apple boasts that this enlarged iPhone-like tool is the best way to experience the web, e-mail, photos and video. Apple is one of the pioneers when it comes to touch screen technology. The iPad must look like an enlarge iPhone to you, but one particular feature I love about this gadget is iBooks. I love to read and having something to carry around, like those heavy hard-bound books is sort of lame. So the iBook feature is just perfect. Some critics say that the iPad is a response to Amazon’s Kindle and the growing number of people who have found endearment with net books. You know, those 7 to 10-inch laptops that’s very handy and lightweight, one can carry it around without the bulk a normal laptop has. The iPad has an on-screen keyboard that lets users type when writing e-mails or just surfing the net. It also has a GPS capability for navigation and a sleek design for organizing photos, videos and iBooks.

The website says it costs starts at $499. Time to save up for this. :)

Wish List

I know a personalized gift is the best, but when you see something as rare as this, then you'll have second thoughts:

Conan Doyle's complete works in one book!

Saw this book while looking for a gift for Sherwin’s daughter in Bibliarch, Glorietta. This are the complete works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle all in one book! It includes The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Case Book Of Sherlock Holmes, The Hounds Of The Baskervilles, The Valley Of Fear, The Memoirs Of Sherlock Holmes, The Return Of Sherlock Holmes, His Last Bow, A Study In Scarlet and The Sign Of The Four. All complete works of Sherlock Holmes novels. It costs a fortune, so I am including it on my Christmas wish list.

Saturday Blues

Macky, my biking buddy, has a shoot this morning so we had to reschedule our biking trip. We started biking around town every Saturday morning three weeks ago. We sometimes get to see landscape lights when we leave their house in the morning. Our schedule is we start at 5:30 in the morning. Normally, we do not have a destination planned; we just decide on the day itself when will our route be. Last Saturday we biked around town for a couple of minutes. Then Macy suggested that we go to a nearby town to go bike shopping. We ended up biking into three towns; Binangonan (our town), Angono and Taytay. I am not sure how many miles is that, but it was definitely a long drive.

I am looking forward to our adventure next week. :)

GPOYW

Been seeing this acronym around the web lately. At first, I thought it was a shortened greeting of some language or dialect. Then I learned from a friend in Twitter what it meant: Gratuitous Picture Of Yourself Wednesday. It’s an Internet Meme where people post well, you guessed it, gratuitous photos of themselves may it be in their sexy costumes or everyday-wear – they will post these kinds of photos on their blogs, on Twitter or on Facebook on a Wednesday. I’ve seen some samples of these posts around the web and their narrations for their GPOYW is hilarious at most times. :D
