September 2010 Gigs: Up Dharma Down
I made this poster to promote Up Dharma Down’s gig schedule this September. I like making these posters since it becomes my Photoshop practice, hehe. Been managing the band’s Tumblr site since early this year and having these posters to promote their shows had been a big help. I am not getting any toys or something similar; I am doing this out of pure love and admiration for the band's music. A lot of Tumblr users are reblogging/reposting this on their page. The gigs have been pretty much crazy these days because of the good turn out of people who read about the gigs on Tumblr and also in Facebook and Twitter where I also post these promo materials.

Swing Me Baby!
I wonder why we do not have toys like this adorable wooden swing set when I was little.
Look at that mini-tree house! And of course, the swing and the slides. My seven-year-old self would love to spend the whole morning just lazily sitting on the swing with my best friend. The sand box underneath the mini-tree house would be perfect for our messy castle-building game. We were two princesses in a lost kingdom, and building a castle will restore the palace and everything in it.
Ah, children and their imaginations :)

Big Fish
Tim Burton as the director of this film caught me by surprise. I’ve been hearing about the film before and thought it was from an Independent director. The movie is more than two-hour long narrative of Edward Bloom’s life, played by Ewan McGregor. I do not remember finding any loose diamonds anywhere in the movie, but this flick is definitely a treasure.
I’ve never seen that much metaphor in a movie before. I told my mother Big Fish will be a perfect subject for film review if ever she’ll have a lesson about death and after-life.

Hello
August is almost over. The 8th month of 2010. I still cannot believe we barely have five months to go before this year ends.

Blog Hop
Having to always think about what to write about during weekends can be pretty tiring. It's a very bad reflection of the one who write on this blog too. I read other blogs and would really love to share all of the things I have been reading since 11am this morning. I normally spend most of my time reading posts of the people I follow on Tumblr. The blog networking site is the most diverse site I have been subscribed to. The bloggers from different walks of life post something as generic as where one could find a wholesale apparel to the best tips one could have in snagging that guy/girl. Aside from reading posts, I also manage the Up Dharma Down Tumblr page. I created this poster to promote the band’s gig this August. Do drop by if you’re around the area of these venues:

Up Dharma Down’s Tadhana
Up Dharma Down released their new song /new single today. The song’s entitled Tadhana (Destiny). It’s the theme song for GMA 7’s new show, Ilumina. This band will never-ever-ever fail to impress me. Their new song sounds ethereal. Been playing the song on loop the whole day, and still can’t get enough of it.

Tayong umaasang hilaga’t kanluran
Ikaw ang hantungan at bilang kanlungan mo
Ako ang sasagip saýo
Saan nga ba patungo, nakayapak at nahihiwagaan
