Sweet Tooth

Been craving for something sweet all day. I needed something to pump me up and get going while researching on life insurance rate statistics for a client. I've had four slices, yes FOUR, of the chocolate cake Mom brought from Red Ribbon. I've hand cinnamon roll for breakfast, and would really really want to have cheesecake right now. Blueberry cheesecake and a tall glass of mint mocha or coffee. Wah.

The Park Knight

I was doing my usual Tumblr dashboard browsing while pitching some ideas on what to write about acne scar cream in an e-mail I am writing for a client when I came across this picture:

So adorable! ♥ This is one of Digg's KickAss Kid Of The Day, and someone made a very interesting comment about it. A perfect caption, I must say:

…he’s the hero that the Playground deserves, but not the one it needs right now…and so we won’t play with him…because he can take it…because he’s not a hero…he’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector…a Park Knight…

No Businesswoman

I can never be a business plan writer. The twists and turns of entrepreneurship is really not my thing. Four years of being a Technical Writer, believe it or not, has been one tough ride for a simple contributor like me. Strict topics, tones and formats are a bit hard to be accustomed with, especially if one is used to interject some of her opinions when she writes.

Monday Squeeze

Mondays; either you love being in it or you cannot wait to get out and say tomorrow is another day. This week for me was a bit of challenge. My boss asked me to conceptualize a design for an internal blog that we will soon be developing. Decided to set aside my research on slimquick for a while and concentrate on the office task at hand. My team mates pitched in some suggestions as to how they want the blog to be like. We’ve had several meeting before about it and agreed that we would like it to have a notebook/scratchpad kind of theme. The peg will be the Engineering Notebook our program developers used when brainstorming.

I have until Wednesday morning to prepare two mock-up designs and a general outline of the would-be contents of the blog. I’ll be presenting the designs I came up with to the team come Wednesday afternoon.

Wish me luck.

Missing Glee

Yes, I actually miss watching new episodes of Glee. I have all thirteen episodes on my hard drive and had a marathon last Christmas eve. The show had been gone too long that I might watch the episodes again. I looked for screencaps of some of the episodes and found one from one of my favorites:

Hairography

This is from the Hairography episode, performing a mash-up of Beyonce’s Crazy In Love and the title track from Hair, The Musical. Judging from the amount of hair the Gleeks in this photo has, I don't think they'll be needing a hair loss treatment anytime soon. You can click here to learn more about hair loss.  This was also the episode where Jenna Ushkowitz’s character, Tina, had her first solo.

Meetup Reminder

Today was fun. Started it with a lot of laughs and would definitely end it with a smile because of the great response I got for the Tumblr Meetup I organized. It'll be tomorrow, BTW. The invite was addressed to the followers of the Tumblelog (that's what they call blogs in Tumblr) I created and I'm currently moderating for Up Dharma Down. I created a poster and posted it earlier...

Do drop by if you have time. I'd be handling free pins on the meetup. Wrapping up the luggage sets research and then I am outta here...

Subtle Joint Pains

Lots of hours using the mouse and typing has had me developed some kind of subtle pain with my joints. Friends say the irritating pain must be the cause of cold weather. Having joint pains is not easy when you have to use your hands and arms all the time. According to some research, these kinds of pain maybe hereditary or caused by wrong diet. That would be hereditary on my part because my grandparents on both sides suffered from rheumatism and arthritis growing up.

Why so early? I am barely 30. 0_o

Friday Terno

Before calling it a day and closing my research on stainless steel tile for a client, I would like promote this Friday's Terno Inferno at Cafe Saguijo in Makati.

Gig starts at 10PM with performances by Not Another Boy Band, Encounters With A Yeti, Musical O, The Charmes and Up Dharma Down. It's also an extra special night for the Tumblr followers of the band. The 1st UdD Tumblr Meetup is scheduled that night too!

Do drop by if you have time. :)

Wi-Fi Environment

A lot of my friends have been asking me on how I was able to set-up the Wi-Fi environment here at home. Setting a Wi-Fi environment, as complicated as it might sound, was surprisingly a piece of cake to a non-IT-pro like me. The market nowadays offer what they call a "plug-and-play" type of networking gadgets that setting it up is like having a cup of tea.

I personally asked our System Administrator at the office on what router would he recommend to a not-so-networking-savvy person like me. He immediately replied that I buy a Linksys router. He shared that it's the best in the market and very easy to set up.

And he was right.

30 minutes was all it took to install the router's software, connect the cables and to configure the computer's LAN settings.

Bye, Brush.

Maybe you really gone. It has been exactly a month and a week ago since you were gone. You we're gone before Christmas, while all of us were busy preparing the house for the holidays. I was in the middle of sending e-mails of correspondence for my research on cheap auto insurance and the deals that goes around it, so my brain was really busy to even thought that you would soon leave us.

I am not sure if you are still out there, trying to find your way back. Or someone catnapped you and had you locked at someone's basement. But I hope you know that saying goodbye to you is hard.

Brush's first day at home.

Beer Belly

I was reading blogs on how to avoid having beer belly. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a drunkard. I am a bit surprised that I developed a beer belly while I only drink one bottle every time I got out. Maybe I need diets that work? Diets that can help me to get rid of this flabby tummy, perhaps?

Diesel

The day staretd pretty lazy. Not it the mood to do anything, but I have to spark things up if I do not want to end this day in doom. I am like a car in diesel; it needs to be pumped up and be all in the right temperature to be able to work right.

Maybe writing the tasks down would do the trick? Today's task include:
  • cleaning my room
  • arranging my books according to authors
  • researching about panama city florida and their great hotels
  • cook dinner
Now what do I do first...

A New Decade

That is what most people coin 2010; the start of a new decade. Thought of writing a few thoughts about the new year before researching about motorhome towing.

How is 2010 going for you? I got back from work yesterday after my two-week long holiday vacation. Our team spent most of the day inside the conference room and brainstormed on the approach for the new projects we will be working on. It was really fun and I got to learn a lot of new things from my team mates.

I am grateful that I was able to start my year on a happy note.
